So far this page has one lonely member. I'm hoping it stays that way.
Update... August 28th, 2004 - so much for one lonely member here.
Updated yet again on December 27th, 2005 - Canadian Tire, the saga continues sadly enough.
and on and on we go... we are now up to 4 and another one will be added soon. Our newest addition to the Hall of Shame is our own Canada Post.
Newest update - Welcome to the Hall of Shame goes to City Optical! on June 28th, 2006. Then again on Nov. 3rd, 2006, then again Sept. 2007 and yet again because they defaulted on the court order, Jan. 2008. This never ends. The story gets better though.
Hall of Shame|
|City Optical||1 Bloor Street East||This is something else again. They try to get disabled to sign off that the glasses are fine before they are even made. They overcharge you. Won't speak to your worker (says it's none of their business even though ODSP is getting the bill). Refuse to give you the free second pair of glasses they advertise, and so on, and so on. Read the full story, you won't believe this place.|
|Canada Post||422 Parliament St.||You must get past the drunks/hookers and crackheads and up two alleyways to get to this post office's disabled door if that's what you want to call it. You need to see this mess to believe it. This is 2 pages long, complete with pics. Oh, and if it's Winter, forget it. No one clears the snow and ice out of alleyways.|
|Pizza Pizza||Parliament St.||1/2 million in renovations and no accessible door!|
|FutureShop||Yonge & Gould Sts. approx.||Long story and all they did in the long run was give lip service and public relations B.S. It's an interesting story.|
|Canadian Tire||Yonge & Davenport Sts. approx.||Another interesting story of millions of dollars and nothing to show for it.|
|Toronto Public Library||495 Sherbourne St. @ Wellesley St. East||Here we go again. Millions spent, lots of discussion about wheelchair accessibility in an area of disabled folks and look at the disabled ramp.!!!|
